About accuracy and licensing
  • Coordinates are true British National Grid (EPSG:27700), so the plans drop into place in Revit or AutoCAD with shared coordinates.
  • OpenStreetMap data is converted from latitude/longitude with a standard Helmert transformation, accurate to a few metres. Data quality varies because it is maintained by volunteers.
  • Not a measured survey: suitable as context, not for dimensioning.
  • Plans must credit "© OpenStreetMap contributors" (ODbL). The note is already written under the frame.
  • Large tiles (over 3 km) can take a minute or two and produce files of tens of MB.
  • Data is downloaded live from OpenStreetMap's public servers (Overpass). When they are busy it can take a few minutes or fail; try again later or with a smaller tile.
